Reverse Date Calculation on the Recurring General Journals page in Business Central

Image
Previously, an entry with a type of Reversing Variable or Reversing Fixed would automatically reverse on the next day from posting, so a reversing journal entry on 31/01/2022 would reverse on 01/02/2022. Please refer to the screenshots below. Business Central now allows the user to specify a calculation date for the reversal of an entry. Add the column field called Reverse Date Calculation on the Recurring General Journals page. Note: If you cannot see  Reverse Date Calculation field on your screen, please use Personalization to add it.   Hope you find it interesting.  #copygeneraljournals #recurringgeneraljournals #reversedjournals #businesscentral #microsoft #erpconsulting

How to Copy General Journals in Business Central?

Image
When this option is selected, it specifies whether the journal lines to be copied to posted journal lines of the selected journal template. When you enable this field, when posting the journal lines from this template, the program copies the lines to the  Posted General Journal  page. From there, you can copy the lines back to the journal, which can be useful when you want to correct entries.  Select your target journal template, batch, and posting date. In this example I updated the posting date and assigned a new Document No.  You can also choose to reverse the sign if you wish to reverse out the original general journal.  The new general journal batch is now available for review and posting. It has the updated date, document number and negative amount. When you are setting up a new general journal template, the Copy GST set up to Jnl. Lines  is ticked automatically by the system. It is crucial to understand when and why this set up should be selected to avoid further mistake with the GST Reconciliation.  When  Copy GST set up to Jnl. Lines    option is selected, it directs the program to automatically fill in the general posting type and GST posting groups on the journal lines of the selected journal template with the defaults from the accounts and balancing accounts.  So make sure that you enable  "Copy GST set up to Jrn. Lines"  only when it is applicable. #businesscentral #msdyn365bc #erpconsulting #microsoft #businesscentral #GSTsetup #generaljournalstemplates #generaljournals
