Image
Hello everyone, Frequently, clients ask how to adjust the GST amount in sales or purchase invoice when posting. Let's take a look at the steps to enable GST difference functionality in Business Central. 1. On the General Ledger Setup  define a maximum GST difference that users will be able to adjust into the system.  2. On the Sales & Receivables Setup enable the “ Allow GST Difference ”. 3. Similar, on the  Purchases & Payables Setup Setup  enable the “ Allow GST Difference ”. 4. On Sales Invoice , go to Invoice-Statistics and make required adjustment in GST amount column on Lines. 5. If you try to make an adjustment bigger than the GST difference allowance amount on the General Ledger Setup ( in my example, GST difference allowance was set up to 1.00 at the first step above), Business Central will prompt an error notification as per below. 6. After finalising the changes, go ahead and click Close to exit Sales Invoice Statistics Window. GST amount will be updated on

Image
Hi, Readers. Today I would like to talk about how to delete a sales order i f you have invoiced the part of the shipment and not planning to ship the rest of it. 1. Reopen the sales order.  2.  Reduce the quantity to the part shipped quantity. 3. You can manually delete the Sales Order or Open the Sales Order List - Find Delete Sales  Documents under Actions or via Tell me what to do - Delete Invoiced Sales Orders . The order will  disappear.  4.  Worth noting that you can set orders to archive automatically for audit trail. Hope this will help. How to setup approval for approvers in sequence order in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central?

Image
In this scenario, when a Purchasing Agent creates a Purchase Order, we want the Purchasing Manager to review the approval request and then, if it is approved, have the Finance Manager approve it. 1.  Create a  New Workflow User Group . In my example below, it is called PD APPROVAL. We add the Purchasing Manager and the Finance Manager as approvers. The sequence numbers assigned are the order in which approvers must review the PO; the Purchasing Manager is first, and the Finance Manager is second. 2.  Create a new  Workflow  from the standard BC  Purchase Order Approval Workflow template . 3. The “ Then Response”  on the first event (Approval of a purchase document is requested) needs to be changed to specify an approver type of  Workflow User Group  and select the newly created  Workflow User Group PD APPROVAL . Since our Workflow User Group was set up with the users having a sequence of 1 and 2, the approval is sent in sequence order from the first approver (Purchasing Manager – Sequ

This scenario is where the Company wants the PO to be approved by ANY of the approvers in the Workflow User Group, requiring only one approval for the PO to be released. This is often used when the second approver is a backup or if both approvers have equal authority for approval. 1.  Create a New Workflow User Group . In my example below, it is called PD PARALLEL. We add two users as Approval Managers and set sequence to 1. 2.  Create a new Workflow from the standard BC Purchase Order Approval Workflow template . 3. The “ Then Response” on the first event (Approval of a purchase document is requested) needs to be changed to specify an approver type of Workflow User Group and select the newly created Workflow User Group PD PARALLEL . 4. We need to change the condition on the second line of the Workflow steps to Pending = 1   and on the third line to Pending = > 1 .  5. Now you can enable Workflow and test the set up for the parallel approval process. Make sure to test the Purchas
